Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Yesterday we had a photo shoot at the salon for the boutique page of the website so we would like to give a big Bow Wow Thank You to all the models who generously gave their time to take part. The models were Theo, Ozzy, Jack, Ruby and Harry who were all beautifully behaved and a big thank you to their mummies and daddies for bringing them to the salon, we really appreciated it. An even bigger BOW WOW THANK YOU is in order for Toby (tjfphotography.co.uk) for taking the photos - we only saw a few of the photos yesterday but they are fantastic and we just can't wait to see them all as the little models looked fabulous in their outfits. We think we have found another model like Martini in Ruby who loves wearing clothes and loves to pose for the camera too.

An update on the Christmas raffle: one of Morag's friends suggested the draw for the raffle should be held earlier than 23 December as people are really busy making last minute preparations for Christmas. Taking this on board, we have decided to hold the raffle from 18 October to 18 December (which is the Saturday before Christmas Eve) this would allow more time for the winners to collect their prizes to put under the tree. We will put a new page on the website which will show photos of the prizes - the prizes will also be on show in the salon.

Today we have put on another photo of our little holiday which features only Daisy. As you all know, Daisy hates to pose for the camera so we have only a few photos of her - Morag took this one on the beach at Lossiemouth Bay so we thought we would post this one today with our blog.

As for Martini, he seems to have suffered from holiday blues - you know, where you feel sad when you get back from holiday. We thought there was something wrong with him but he is so dramatic we didn't know whether he was ill or not. Everyone who knows him, knows that drama is Martini's signature dish (which is served up on a regular basis) so we went for a walk at Silloth and he was back to his perky self, running around and looking really happy again. Daisy, on the other hand, is a real homebody and seems much happier back at home again.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Today is a very special day as it is Daisy's anniversary of coming to stay with Morag and Martini and now she has been here in Cumbria for a whole year! Daisy instantly made herself at home with us and it feels like she has been with us forever.

We have been away to Lossiemouth in North East Scotland for a long weekend and had a fabulous time. Daisy doesn't travel well but she had a tablet to help her on the journey as it is 300 miles. We stayed in a lovely big caravan on a quiet site (www.directholidayhomes.co.uk/prop_ref_2661.html) at Lossiemouth Bay opposite East Beach. We did have to walk across a bridge to the beach and the first few times Daisy had to be carried over it as she was really scared but she saw that Martini was able to walk over so as long as we walked slowly she would walk over tentatively. We often had the beach completely to ourselves as you can see in the photos but judging by some of the footprints in the sand there must have be some giant dogs there too! On Tuesday morning we went to the beach very early because we were going to come home. Martini decided to chase a crow on the beach and every time he got tantalising close the crow flew a little bit further away but he didn't give up easily and ran after it a few times until he finally realised he was never going to get the crow. Martini and Daisy just loved the beach and galloped around chasing each other and looked really happy. Morag tried her best but could not get Martini and Daisy to look at the camera at the same time so she asked them to do a "down and wait" to try and get a photo - all those dog training lessons finally paid off! We had a great time and will definitely go again.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

It has been another busy week ending with Martini going to see the tooth fairy on Friday and now has sparkly white teeth. We felt so sorry for him as he was very sleepy in the evening so he had an early night and was tucked in with a fleecy blanket.

On Saturday Molly (Labradoodle) from Cockermouth came in for a pamper session at the salon. Molly's mummy was telling Morag how they had to be rescued by boat during the floods last November. Molly and her family were rescued from their house - the water came in so fast the house was under 2ft of water within 20 minutes! As Molly's family had to stay in temporary accommodation, poor Molly had to stay with family friends until her family could move back into their house in July this year. Molly is such a sweetie though she must have been a very good house guest. Molly's photo will be in the regular section under M - Z and she is a black Labradoodle Molly with a pretty pink bow in her hair.

We thought we would feature the windows of the salon in our photo this week - we had the poodles put on the windows on 1 September (our anniversary day). We think they look great so we asked Toby (tjf photography.co.uk) to take some photos for us as Morag tried to take a photo to send to her mummy in South Africa but the picture is all wonky! A big Bow Wow thank you to Toby for taking the photo.

We have good news too for the Christmas raffle - Toby has agreed to donate a first prize of a pawtrait session! We will keep you posted but thought we would mention the raffle tickets would be on sale from 23 October until 23 December so prizes could be put under the Christmas tree. We realise it is a little early to speak about Christmas but time flies when you are chasing your tail!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Alfie (Labradoodle) was in the salon this week and his mummy told Morag that he had turned one the week before - Yappy Birthday Alfie! We also have to wish Molly (Labradoodle) a Yappy first Birthday too because they are brother and sister. Alfie and Molly live with different families and have not been in the salon at the same time but we think they are identical twins because they look exactly the same - their photos are on the website and we think you will agree. Archie (Shih Tzu) also had his birthday on 3 September - Yappy Birthday Archie!

Yesterday was the open day at the salon which was a tea party in celebration of the second anniversary and we had a great time. Thanks to those who came to the salon as it was lovely to see you. At one stage there was such a fluffy fest as apart from Martini and Daisy, there were also three Shih Tzus Theo, Charlie and Molly (Charlie and Molly are only a few months old) and 5 month old Cocker Spaniel Rocco (Fritha's dog). We think Rocco must have felt like a giant next to all the little fluffies. A big Bow Wow thank you to Fritha and Keita for baking yummy tasty treats (flapjacks, brownies, cookies, sponge cake) and Elizabeth Sewell for the yummy cheesecakes. Thank you also to our friends Gillian, Martyn and Jordan for sending flowers to us for the open day it was such a big surprise.

We all snuggled up on the sofa last night and went straight to sleep - it had been a long day which started with Martini and Daisy being bathed first thing so they could look their best. Morag ate far too much cake and drank too much tea all afternoon while Martini and Daisy were tired from having so many friends to play with and chasing each other around the car park. As a result of our fun day, we have decided to have a lazy Sunday.

As you know, it is hard to get photographs of Daisy so today we have attached a photo of Daisy and Martini both wanting to play with the same toy - as you can see this was a tug of war. There are occasions where, no matter how many toys we have, Martini and Daisy want to play with the same thing. This toy was a present at Christmas last year and it is a wonder it is still in one piece (although it has sewn it back together a few times).
