Hello Everyone

Today the salon was packed up and put into storage until the re-opening on 8 February at our new premises at Woodside Farm.  It is a bit like going home, as the premises at Woodside Farm is where we started Doggy Doos Salon originally!  We looked at several options and Woodside Farm was definitely the best so we are happy to going back there, although a little sad to leave our current location.  Thank you so much for all the offers of help we had - it was really appreciated!

We took some photos yesterday of the snow we had in Cumbria and have posted one of the photos to show everyone our lovely scenery.  The Lake District is beautiful at all times of the year and we always feel lucky to be able to live here.  We hope you like the photo, it was taken at Applewaithe (underneath Skiddaw) looking towards the Northern Fells.  We really need to get a good camera as the photo was taken on Morag's phone which doesn't do the scenery any justice.

As it is still very cold, we hope all our four-legged friends are keeping safe and warm.

Hello Everyone

We missed writing our blog last Sunday as we went to visit Morag's mummy in York.  We have posted a photo of Martini making himself completely at home at Grandma's house - any chair next to a window has his name on it as he just loves to sit and look out.  We are always amazed at how he can sleep perched on the back of a chair or sofa.  Martini does occasionally fall off, much to the amusement of Morag and Daisy, whilst he is fast asleep and then accusingly looks around as if he had been pushed!

We have been given very short notice on our salon premises which has made us sad but by this time tomorrow we are hoping to have had confirmation of our new premises which will make us happy.  We won't announce where we are moving to yet but we may have to close the salon for a week or 10 days before we can re-open.  Thank you to everyone for their support and suggestions in the last two weeks, it has been really appreciated!

It has been bitterly cold here in Cumbria for the past couple of days so we hope everyone keeps nice and warm until the temperature improves.

Hello Everyone

Hopefully everyone has recovered from the excesses of Christmas and New Year celebrations!  We still have lots of chocolates and doggy treats to get through - yummy yum yum.

If you are reading this and not in Cumbria, we have had some very wild weather for the first week of the New Year.  The weather today was quite dull and damp so instead of going for a special walk we had extended play time, Martini does play rather enthusiastically so got plenty of exercise.  Daisy has recently started to run for her favourite toy (Santa Bear) when it is thrown so she too had extra exercise.

As the salon has been a bit busier than expected this week, Martini and Daisy both got haircuts today instead of Friday as planned.   Martini looks less like a miniature Yeti now and Daisy always looks like a puppy when she has her haircut.  We have posted a photo of Martini today in our kitchen.

We would like to take the opportunity to wish Holly (Labradoodle) a very big Yappy Birthday for January - Holly is a whole one year old!  Holly had her first ever haircut in December and really seemed to enjoy the whole experience, she is a real sweetie and will be back to see us in February.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Well, 2011 has been and gone and this is the first day of a brand new year so Happy New Year to one and all!  2011 was a good year for us and, fingers crossed, 2012 will be even better.

Unfortunately, Daisy didn't have a very good start to last year having gone to have a tooth out and ended up with a broken jaw.  It took Daisy quite some time to recover, after a few months of not being very well but Daisy is back to her normal, playful self and we are so relieved!  Martini is still a dramatic diva, who thinks Morag and Daisy are his entourage, but we love him to bits and wouldn't have it any other way.

We had fun with the Pawparazzi Day in July and our Christmas Photo Competition with a big thank you to Ann Nixon who was the judge on both occasions.  A big thank you also goes to everyone who took part in both competitions!

We are wishing for better weather at the moment so we can go on some decent walks!  We have posted a photo of Martini and Daisy today taken at home and, as usual, it was difficult to get them both to look at the camera at the same time.  We had considered going for a special walk to Whinlatter but with the heavy rain in the early hours of this morning it will probably be too muddy for two very fluffy pooches.  We were invited out to lunch at our friend's farm today and, of course, Martini and Daisy enjoyed many tasty treats.

We hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas - we had a great time with Morag's mum in York.  For 2012, we wish everyone what they would wish for themselves!
