29 April 2011 - Royal Wedding Day

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We had a day off so we watched the Royal Wedding on tv like millions of others all over the world. Morag's sister Lyndsey, who lives in America, got up early today to watch and we know she really enjoyed the wedding. What a great day - we decided to take a photo in our garden as it looks like we had our own wedding here! We have a cherry tree which is covered in blossoms but it was a little windy here in Cumbria today so it rained blossoms - we have our own carpet of pretty pink confetti - we hope you like the photo.

With Easter last week and wedding celebrations this week, we decided to round our day off with a walk to work off some of those extra treats at Silloth this afternoon. A little on the nippy side but we enjoyed the sunshine nonetheless.

Yappy Easter Everyone!

We hope you have all enjoyed the lovely weather over the long weekend and not eaten too many Easter eggs and hot cross buns!

We went to visit our friend Gillian at her shop in Caldbeck today. Morag had a Knickerbocker Glory (which was very yummy) and we sat outside in the sunshine with Gillian. Gillian's birthday is on Wednesday so Yappy Birthday Gillian. We have another friend called Ann Sewell who will also be having a birthday on Wednesday so Yappy Birthday Ann. We thought it would be polite not to mention how old they will be on Wednesday. We have posted a photo of the three of us with Gillian outside her shop. The photo was taken on Morag's phone by a passing tourist.

If you are not tired of the royal wedding yet, Martini just loves the new advert on TV for Freeview HD! It is the advert where three Corgis travel to London by various means - he loves watching it! Fingers crossed for good weather on the next long weekend.

Hello again from Morag, Martini and Daisy

First of all, we have a couple of Yappy Birthdays to do. Yappy Birthday to Marshall on 5 April and a Yappy Birthday to Woody (terrier) who was 2 years old on 9 April.

We are a bit fed up with all the doom and gloom there is going on at the moment so we have decided to have a "Pawparazzi Day" on 9 July. Morag has been chatting with Toby the photographer (www.tjfphotography.co.uk) and between them they have decided to have a photo competition at the salon. There will be a prize of a toy gift basket for three best photos - Cute K9, Looky-Likey and Pawpapped (not posed photo). The Pawparazzi Day will start at 2pm on 9 July and the prizes will be announced at 5pm (or as close to as we can). Toby will take the photos and Morag has asked Toby if he would make the prints of any photos taken available to buy and Toby has agreed. The photos will be available for purchase at Toby's usual prices which are very reasonable (6" x 4" - £4, 7" x 5" - £6 and 10" x 8" - £8). Morag and Martini have started off the Looky-Likey photos with one taken today by Toby - a portrait of matching bunches - so we have posted this as our photo this week! The three winning photos will be put on the Dog Blog page of the website. We will also put on some refreshments - tea and cake - so all in all it should be a giggle. We do hope everyone will make note the date in their diaries and be able to come along on the day.

We hope everyone is enjoying the sunny weather!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We have been out enjoying the warm sunny weather which does make a lovely change. Yesterday afternoon, we spent time in the garden and of course Daisy made the most of the sun bathing weather. Today we went to visit our friends Martyn and Gillian in Caldbeck - they own the Woodwork Shop so Morag enjoyed a cream tea which she didn't share with Martini and Daisy. As Caldbeck was quite busy, we decided to go for a walk near Bassenthwaite Lake and that is where today's photo was taken. Morag, of course and in the usual way, didn't have her camera to hand so the photo was taken on her phone but it did work out better than expected.

Daisy seems to have been a bit overheated today so she will have a haircut tomorrow and hopefully she will be feel a bit more comfortable. She will also have her face done this time now that her jaw has healed up.

Martini's friend Poppy came to the salon on Friday and very kindly brought Martini a proper doggy chocolate Easter egg - thank you Poppy!

3 April 2011 - Mother's Day

Yappy Mother's Day

As today is Mother's Day, we went to visit Morag's Mummy in York. We got up very early this morning and off we went as it takes around 2 and a half hours to drive there. We had a lovely lunch followed by the yummy chocolates we took with us but they were not "dog safe chocolates" so Martini and Daisy had to have a different treat instead. Martini and Daisy were very well behaved and although Daisy hates going to even the end of the road in the car she coped very well on the trip. We had a mixed bag of weather during the day with lovely sunshine with a few April showers in both Cumbria and Yorkshire but we all had a great time. We have posted a photo of the four of us today.

Poor Martini got a bit of a surprise tonight to say the least. Morag was putting salad dressing on a salad and managed to miss the plate and it landed on Martini. His face was a picture as he knew something had come down from the worktop but couldn't find it on the floor - bless him, he had salad dressing on his head and back and he only had a bath yesterday! He has been cleaned up but another bath is on the cards.
