Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

It has been a busy week at the salon!  Ann Nixon braved the snow on Friday morning to come to the salon to judge the Christmas Photo Competition so a big thank you is in order to Ann and her little dog Jack!  After a great deal of deliberation and a couple of cups of coffee, Ann decided that the best boy photo was Indiana Jones and the best girl photo was Doris.  The winners were informed straight away so well done to them and thank you to everyone else who took the time (and went to a lot of trouble to print off photos) to take part in the competition.  We have posted a photo of Ann holding the gift basket prizes.

The Christmas Raffle was drawn on Saturday and the winning ticket holders were contacted on the day.  Congratulations to everyone who won a prize and thank you to everyone else for taking part.

One week today will be Christmas Day!  We just thought we would let you know the salon will be open between Christmas and New Year next week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday if you need an appointment, although Friday (30th December) is already fully booked.

16 December 2011 - Christmas Photo Competition

Hi Everyone

We just wanted to let you know who the won the Christmas Photo Competition today. Ann braved the snow to come to the salon to judge the entries so big Bow Wow thank you to Ann and her little dog Jack! We have posted a photo of Ann holding the gift basket prizes.

The best boy photo went to Indiana Jones and the best girl photo went to Doris. Morag phoned to let them know they had won a gift basket each for Christmas.

A great big thank you goes to everyone who took the time to take part because without the photos there would be no competition.

Hi Everyone

Christmas Photo Competition Deadline! Just a quick reminder this evening is the the deadline for your entry into the Christmas Photo Competition. We have had a little surge of entries this week and, as we have said, today is the deadline (unless you have your entry posted through the letterbox by 9am tomorrow morning)! All the photos are very cute and it will be a difficult job for our judge Ann Nixon to pick the best boy and best girl photos but her decision is final. Morag will phone the winners tomorrow - good luck everyone and thank you for taking the time to take part.

The Christmas raffle will be drawn on Saturday and the winners will be informed on the day.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Due to today's weather conditions, our special Sunday walk was a bit of a wash out! Even the snow on the top of the Cumbrian fells seems to be melting away and they look like the hills have lost some of their icing! According to the weather forecast for the coming week, we are about to have more stormy weather - we did enjoy the snow (especially Martini) while we had it.

The Christmas Photo Competition will be judged this coming Friday, 16th December, so if you haven't sent your entry in now is the time to get it to the salon. We have had a surge of entries in the last week and thank you to everyone who has taken the time to send in their entry. The raffle will be drawn on Saturday next week so don't miss out on a chance to win a fabulous prize! As soon as the photo competition has been judged we will phone the winners straight away.

We have posted a photo of Daisy with her very favourite toy - Santa Bear! She plays with it all year round and it makes no difference to Daisy what time of the year it is as long as she has her little Santa Bear.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We have had our first snow of winter here in Cumbria today. We went to Thirlmere for a walk and it was snowing on the way there but we did manage to walk on the path next to the lake. We have posted a photo we took of the opposite side of the lake. We also went to visit our friends on their farm and had to stay a little longer than we had planned as a snow shower blew in from the North!

We can't believe that 3 weeks today it will be Christmas Day. We hope our four legged friends are on their best behaviour so they don't find themselves on Santa's naughty list! There are only 2 weeks left to enter the photo competition and to buy a raffle ticket - time really flies when you are having fun!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Greetings from a very stormy Cumbria! We have had lashings of wind and rain for the past few days which has made going for our walks a bit of a washout. We have been caught out in heavy rain a few times and have no photos from our walk today. It is also getting a bit nippy with a very cold wind today.

We have posted a cute photo of Daisy - her tongue hangs out of her mouth due to the lack of teeth to keep it in so we just couldn't resist!

We would just like to remind you of the Christmas photo competition - we now have four entries so don't be shy, you can post your entry to us if you can't get to the salon.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you the salon will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week (29th and 30th November).

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

The weather here in Cumbria has been a real mixed bag over the last few days - today we started off with rain and fog and ended up with glorious sunshine! On Sunday we decided to go for a walk at Whinlatter just above the Visitor Centre. It is possible to walk all the way up to the Lord's Seat which has panoramic views of the Lake District, however, Martini and Daisy are not fell walkers so we didn't reach anywhere near the top but we enjoyed the walk in any event. We don't usually walk on that side of the forest and Martini and Daisy ended up very dirty and covered in pine needles. We have posted a photo taken on our walk on Sunday in the forest.

The Lake District looks spectacular at this time of the year. The autumn colours are glorious at the moment and even our cherry tree leaves have turned all shades of gold and rich red. We are very lucky to live in such a lovely corner of the world.

Christmas will soon be upon us and the diary is already quite full for the week before Christmas so if you need an appointment that week booking is advisable! Don't forget the photo competition and the Christmas raffle!

We will take this opportunity to remind you that the salon will be closed next Tuesday and Wednesday (29 and 30 November) but you can leave a message or send a text and Morag will call you back as soon as possible.

Hello Everyone from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We missed writing a blog last Sunday as we got carried away doing various outside jobs and just ran out of time. Our very kind neighbour lent us his pressure washer so we pressure washed around the back of our house (Martini and Daisy helped of course) as the concrete areas can be a more than a bit slippery in icy weather. We washed the car (although it looks like it hasn't been done for months now), we cleaned the salon, had a mountain of washing and went on our walk so before we knew it the day had gone.

We do very much hope that all our little four legged friends weren't too stressed by the fireworks last weekend and everyone was safe. Martini and Daisy slept through bonfire night with the exception of two very loud bangers around 8.30pm from a near neighbour's garden which sent Martini running to the back door to investigate and woke Daisy from her nap!

We have posted a photo of our walk at Silloth today. As you can see, we think we had Silloth completely to ourselves with no-one else in sight. We had a lovely walk right along the front and we walked back along the pavement just to confuse Daisy so she would walk all the way back to the car (if we turn around to walk back she will just sit down).

Don't forget your photo for the photo competition for Christmas and the chance to win a gift basket - there is still time to enter and the competition will be judged on 16 December. There is also a Christmas raffle with 10 great prizes which will be drawn on 17 December.

Please note that the salon will be closed all day on Tuesday, 29 November and Wednesday, 30 November (this includes evening appointments). Apologies for any inconvenience, however, you will be able to leave a telephone message or send a text and Morag will call you back as soon as she can.

Happy "Howloeen" Everyone!

We hope you have a lovely Halloween and don't get too scared by all the goings on! We didn't do too much decoration in the salon because it can be a bit too scary for some of our fluffy friends. Today we have posted a photo of Miss Petunia with her Halloween bows.

As the salon was very busy last week, Daisy didn't get her planned, and already overdue, haircut. She really is starting to look like a little sheep but there will be no escape this week and her haircut is on the cards!

On Thursday the salon was closed as Morag went to Manchester to pick her mummy up from the airport and take her home so Martini and Daisy went to spend the day with favourite friends at the farm (and where they are completely spoilt). It would have been a long trip for poor Daisy who doesn't travel well, although Martini would have loved it and would have been very happy to see his Grandma! Grandma brought a sign for the salon door all the way from Texas for us - we put a photo of it on our Facebook page.

We hope you all take care of yourselves and don't get too scared if you see any witches flying by on their broomsticks!

Hello Everyone

Today we have posted a photo of Martini and Daisy after a hard day (apologies for the colour but it was taken on a phone in low lighting). They look like two fluffy rugs fast asleep after a tough day of going for walks, playing and eating!

Yesterday Scruff and Pip came to the salon for an appointment - it was nice to see them again as they live in Lancashire but come to us when they come to the Lakes for holidays. We last saw them in July and wish them a lovely holiday!

We had an early finish at the salon yesterday and, as the weather was pretty good, we decided to go off to Whinlatter again for a walk. Martini and Daisy really enjoyed it but to borrow a colloquialism from the native Cumbrians, they ended up "slathered" and we took home half the forest in the car. Martini, Daisy and the car have since been cleaned up!

As a little reminder, don't forget your photo for the photo competition - you can post your entry to the salon if you want. The photo competition will be judged on 16 December. Also, raffle tickets are on sale with ten terrific prizes for lucky ticket holders - the raffle will be drawn on 17 December.

Hello Everyone

First of all, we would like to wish Ollie a very Yappy Birthday this coming week. Ollie will be a whole one year old! A big bow wow thank you to our friend John who came this morning to cut back our cherry and apple tree for us. Martini and Daisy of course helped and we managed to get three very big bags of apples from the branches which we shared with friends. The apple tree has had a huge crop this year but sadly the cherry tree gives us nothing but beautiful blossoms.

Yesterday we went for a walk at Whinlatter Forest and we had a lovely time as it is one of our favourite walks. We saw many interesting mushrooms along the way but decided not to pick any in case we ended up as toast after eating them! The sun was shining and there seemed to be a lot of people out enjoying the nice weather. We are still staggered at the price of parking at the little forest car park though - even downtown Carlisle's Lanes Shopping Centre is much cheaper - we remember when it was completely free to park there and it wasn't so long ago.

We received our first postal entry for the Christmas Photo Competition (Billy Ballard from Penrith). You are welcome to post your entry to us (postal address on our website www.doggydoos.org) but if you are a winner you will need to collect your prize from our salon. Remember the competition has free entry so don't be shy.

Today we have posted a photo of Daisy rolling around in the washing. She looks so surprised but had been told not to do it several times - who needs toys when you can roll around in the washing instead.

Hello Everyone

Today we have posted a photo of the gift baskets which will be the prizes for the best boy and best girl photos in our Christmas Photo Competition. The gift baskets include a toy, pretty collar (one size), bit of bling (collar charm) with suedette pouch to keep it in, a grooming bow all contained in a gorgeous paw print keepsake box so don't forget to enter your photo in the free competition. The photos will be judged on Friday, 16 December and the winners will be contacted on the day.

We still didn't go on our walk at Ennerdale as the weather has been heavy rain and more heavy rain here in Cumbria this weekend! At least we live close to the Lake District National Park so we can go at any time - hope all the visitors brought their wellies!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We have started our photo competition at the salon so feel free to send in your photos - there is no entry fee! The prizes for the best boy and best girl photos (which are gift baskets) are on show in the salon.

We have had outstanding weather during the week but sadly we have had rain for most of the day. It has been raining quite hard this afternoon so our plans for a walk at Ennerdale have been "rained off". Not to worry, Ennerdale will still be there next time we decide to go. As we don't have a photo from our special walk today, we have posted a photo of Martini - it is not a posed photo but he looks like a punk with his hair sticking up (due to the light breeze)!

Martini went to Dog Club this week so we are going to try for his Silver Certificate (he and Daisy already have their Bronze). It was lovely to see our instructor, Fay, and some old friends and we met some new ones too. We can't always get to Dog Club but we will do our best to go this year.

We have created a salon Facebook page - Doggy Doos Dog Grooming Salon - and will post fun photos from the salon. There is link straight to the page via our website www.doggydoos.org too.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We have been busy this week putting together the prizes for the Christmas raffle. We are also having a Christmas Photo Competition and there will be a gift basket for the best boy and best girl photos - we will post a photo of the prizes in the next few weeks. The competition is free to enter but you will need to bring to the salon a Christmas or seasonal theme photo of your dog. The photo competition prize gift baskets include a bling collar, collar charm, grooming bow and toy all in a cute paw print keepsake box - good luck to everyone who enters the competition. The photos will be displayed from 1 October and they will be judged by Ann Nixon on Friday, 16 December - so plenty of time to collect your prize in time for Christmas. The tickets for the Christmas raffle will be on sale from 1 October and will be drawn on Saturday, 17 December. There are some great prizes including a salon gift voucher and a toy gift basket crammed with toys! Good luck to everyone who buys a ticket.

We would like to wish Morag's niece Kennedy, who lives in Texas, a very yappy birthday on Tuesday - Yappy 15th Birthday Kennedy!

Today we went for a walk at Whinlatter Forest (in the Lake District if you are reading this and not in the UK). We walked much further than we usually walk and both Martini and Daisy have slept since we got home! We had a lovely time and the weather was lovely and sunny although a little chilly - brrrr Autumn is definitely here! We have posted a photo from our walk at Whinlatter today although there was so much to do and see it was nearly impossible to get Martini and Daisy to stand together for the photo.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

It is Morag's Yappy Birthday today so the salon is closed for the day! We have posted another photo from our weekend away in Scotland - today features Martini and his friend Hamish. Hamish is at least twice the size of Martini and although Martini is very wary of big dogs he seemed to like running around the beach with Hamish. Hamish is only 10 months old and seemed to love Martini.

We were going to go for a special walk today to Ennerdale in the Lake District but unfortunately there has been very heavy rain here in Cumbria. We will go to our quiet road so Martini and Daisy can enjoy a walk off the lead. Hope the weather is better wherever you are!

We have created a page on Facebook and have posted a couple of photos. We thought we would post our fun photos there - so far we have posted a photo of Martini in his footie shirt and one of 6 month old Poppy with her new raincoat. Poppy came to the salon this week for her first haircut.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We have just returned from a weekend away in Gairloch. Having watched the weather forecast closely from Monday last week, it was only on Friday morning that the forecast for North West Scotland was going to be a lot better than Cumbria. So off we went to Gairloch and, although we have been there before, the beach is outstanding and worth the long drive. Martini and Daisy clearly love beach holidays, they had so much fun mooching about, running around and making new friends. We have a few photos and will post them in future blogs; today's photo shows Daisy stretching out after a good run around on the beach.

We also went to see Dry Island at Badachro - the only access is either by boat or by a floating bridge. So we went to the bridge for a look-see but after inspection we decided not to cross by foot - Daisy gets in a state crossing a fixed bridge so we thought a floating bridge would be a "bridge too far" for her and we didn't want to end up in the loch!

Our journey back was quite a bit longer than we had planned as we were stuck behind an horrific accident on the A87 - 5 people were hospitalised after two cars crashed and caught fire on an extremely tight bend in the road. Fortunately, the crash barrier kept the cars from going over the edge.

Hope you all had a great weekend - we had a fabulous time with equally fabulous weather.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We are posting an extra blog this week as we found out who put the fridge magnet in our letterbox today - so thank you!

It is still extremely windy here in Cumbria as we have the tail end of Hurricane Katia passing through - an HGV was blown over on the motorway due to high winds. Anyway, when we went for a lunchtime walk Morag took a photo of Tini Bear on her phone to show you just how windy it is if you are fluffy with long ears and tail - he looks quite funny walking into the wind. Perhaps we should have taken a photo showing the consequences of a tail wind instead!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Here in Cumbria we have had a lot of rain and its is very windy. In our attempts to go for a walk today we have experienced heavy rain and have nearly been blown away - mostly happening at the same time so we have ended up just dashing out to the garden so not much fun. We have an apple tree in our garden so when the wind is really blowing don't stand under the tree as it is possible to be hit by falling apples!

We would like to wish Archie (Shih Tzu) a very yappy birthday for 3 September! We would also like to wish Beau (Coco's mummy) a very yappy birthday this coming week.

Whilst we were out of the salon on Wednesday someone put a fridge magnet through our letterbox. This may not sound unusual but the magnet has a photo of Martini and Daisy at Mawbray from our Dog Blog of 24 July - there was no note attached so we do not know who put this in our letterbox. Please email us at doggydoossalon@aol.com to let us know who you are so we can say thank you.

We have posted a photo of Daisy today - fast asleep in Martini's bed!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Just where does the time go - it is already 5 September and it feels like yesterday when we enjoyed the Pawparazzi Day on 9 July!

The weather here in Cumbria is very changeable to say the least. We have had sunshine and showers for a few days with more to come according to the forecast. This afternoon, when Max (Border Collie) was in the salon, the rain came down so hard we thought it was hail stones. Morag got soaked as she had to go out in this very heavy rain because Martini and Daisy have to sit in the car when Max comes to the salon and the windows of the car were open!

We decided to go to Silloth yesterday afternoon for a walk as it is always lovely to walk along the coast. We are posting a photo of Martini and Daisy on the grassy section near the lighthouse and you can see Scotland on the other side of the Solway in the background of the photo.

The local schools go back for the Autumn term next week so we hope all the children have had a lovely Summer holiday.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

If you are reading this in the UK, then we hope you had a lovely long weekend.

Yesterday we went to visit Morag's mummy in York and we had a lovely day. We have to report that Daisy was very naughty yesterday for the first time ever! Both Martini and Daisy wear harnesses which connect to the seat belt holder when we go a long trip trip. Not only do they save them being catapulted through the windscreen in a head-on collision but if a door is open on a busy road then they cannot jump out of the car - Martini has discovered this as he has ended up "dangling" from the seat belt holder in his harness. Anyway, at some point between Junction 41 of the M6 motorway and Kirkby Thore on the A66, Daisy managed to wriggle free of her harness and squeezed herself under the passenger seat of our car! Not even drama queen Martini has managed this trick so we are going to change her name from Oopsy Daisy to Houdini Daisy!

We have posted a photo of Daisy today in her harness so you can see why we are puzzled and wonder how she managed to get out of it.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We decided to go to Silloth for a walk today but unfortunately Morag forgot to take collars for Martini and Daisy and only had leads. As Silloth was busy with holidaymakers we decided to go off to Mawbray further along the coast instead. It is always much quieter at Mawbray so we ended up having a lovely walk around the grassy dunes. The weather was much nicer this afternoon than it was this morning so we had lots of lovely sunshine for our walk. We have posted a photo of Daisy at Mawbray today.

We have received photos from our Pawparazzi Day and have put the winning photos on the photo wall in the salon. We asked Toby for some extra photos from the competition and these will be put on the photo wall as well.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

It was Martini's birthday yesterday and he is now 5 years old! Yappy Birthday Martini! Martini got a new toy for his birthday (and Daisy got one too) and then Martini and Daisy had a special birthday treat of sausage and mash for supper. We only went as far as the quiet road yesterday for a walk as we had rain on and off all day and then went to visit our friends at their farm where, of course, Martini and Daisy were spoilt again.

The weather was really nice here in Cumbria this afternoon so we rounded off Martini's birthday weekend with a lovely walk at Thirlmere. Morag had her trusty phone with her so we have posted a photo of Martini posing on the wall around the lake and you know how much he loves posing! We all had a lovely time and we hope you have all had a great weekend too.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We missed posting a blog as we have been very busy. Last weekend a very old friend, Ian Chapman and his wife, came to visit us. We all had a lovely time catching up as Ian and Morag had not seen each other for around 20 years!

We have posted a photo today of Martini and Daisy with their friend Jack (in the middle). It will be Jack's birthday on Thursday of this week and he will be 3 years old - so big Yappy Birthday Jack from all of us.

Martini also has his birthday this month on 13 August and he will be 5 years old. Talking of Martini, he has now reached new levels of naughtiness - he has found the hooter in the car and knows how to use it! He is usually connected to his seat belt but if he is loose he jumps into the driver's seat and doesn't press it just once. He also loves to sit on the sofa by the window and look out but just recently he has started watching the postman, barking at him and then running to the letterbox. We should be thankful that he doesn't destroy the letters as they appear through the letterbox - if he did it would be "taxi for Martini".

We have had to go for our walks between the rain showers and as it has stopped raining we are off for our walk.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We have had a hectic couple of days. Friday night someone hacked into the salon email address and sent spam emails using the Doggy Doos address - we know this by the unprecedented amount of undelivered mail back to our email address so if you received a spam email it certainly wasn't from us.

It has been glorious weather here in Cumbria which we have been enjoying. Today though a butterfly came into our house to the amazement of Martini and Daisy who couldn't take their eyes of it. The poor butterfly managed to fly out of the back door only to come straight back in again. Martini was beside himself and it had his full attention. We are very happy to report that the butterfly found its way out again and decided not to come back.

As the weather was so nice today, we went off to Mawbray to enjoy a walk on the beach. We have posted a photo from the top of the grassy dunes at Mawbray of Martini and Daisy enjoying a little rest. Hope the weather is great where you are!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Well done to the winners of Pawparazzi Day Ruby, Matthew & Charlie and Winnie - Ruby collected her prize on the day and Winnie's mummy and Charlie's mummy came to the salon on Tuesday to collect their gift baskets. There was a small article in the Cumberland News about the day so we will try and scan it and post it to the news page on the website. There are a few new pages on the website which are Pawaparazzi Day 2011, News Hound and Contact/Opening - this one shows the current opening times of the salon. The Bow Wow Boutique page has also been updated.

On Thursday we had an early appointment at the salon and then we went to visit Morag's mummy in York. Martini and Daisy were the lucky recipients of new beds (blue for Tini Bear and pink for Oopsy Daisy) to bring home. We had a great time and the weather was lovely unlike today in Cumbria!

As the weather hasn't been at all nice today, we have had a quiet day at home. There was a short sunny spell so we went straight out to the garden but it didn't last very long. Martini hates going out in the rain so it is a struggle to get him out in this weather. As we didn't go somewhere for a special walk, we have posted a photo of Martini posing with his football which Toby took for us last year. Fingers crossed we will get our summer back soon!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Yesterday was Pawparazzi Day - we had a great time and thank you to everyone who came along to the salon and entered the photo competition. A big BOW WOW thank you to Ann Nixon who judged the competition. Ann brought her dog Jack along for the day and Martini, Daisy and Jack are great friends so enjoyed themselves. It was very hard work but definitely worth it as there were lots of fantastic photos taken by Toby. Ann went through the photos and a shortlist was drawn up for each category and Ann had the unenviable task of picking the winners. Well done to Ruby for Cute K9, Matthew and Charlie for Best Lookey-Likey and Winnie for Pawpapped (unposed photo). Their photos are absolutely fantastic and a big BOW WOW thank you and well done goes to Toby for taking all the photos. A Pawparazzi Day page will be put on the website in the next couple of days showing the winning photos. Ann and Jack did a great job of judging so we gave Ann some flowers and a present for Jack as he couldn't enter the competition. We decided to post today's photo of Ann receiving her flowers from Morag.

As Martini and Daisy worked hard yesterday meeting and greeting the four legged contestants they are having a restful day today. The weather has been lovely here in Cumbria so we cut the grass (which never seems to stop growing), tidied the salon and caught up with the washing.

We really enjoyed Pawparazzi Day so we will probably do it all over again next year!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Well, it has been a glorious day here in Cumbria with wall to wall sunshine! Even sun lover Daisy actually sat in the shade earlier on so it must have been hot on the Daisy Scale.

We have been a little busy with cutting the grass, went for a walk and then off to see our friend Gillian at her shop in Caldbeck. Morag had a very yummy Crunchie Munchie sundae but as it is not suitable for dogs Morag ate the entire sundae herself. We have posted a photo of Daisy again today showing how naughty she can be as she acts like butter wouldn't melt! Whenever we go for a walk Daisy has decided now that she is not going to walk back to the car and lies down whenever she is. Today, our walk was on a quiet road near where we live so Martini and Daisy can walk off their leads. As you can see by the photo, when it was time to go back to the car Daisy just lay down in the road.

Our Pawparazzi Day is only a week away and we can't wait. We do hope you will be able to come along and have your photo taken - remember there are three great gift baskets to be won! Pawparazzi Day - 9 July 2pm - 5pm.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

This is a birthday special blog as today is Daisy's birthday. Daisy is 6 years old today which makes her approximately 37 years old in human years.

Daisy has had a lovely day, first working (and sleeping) at the salon, then a walk in the lovely warm sunshine and slap up supper of chicken, rice and gravy.

We have posted our very favourite photo of Daisy today which was taken quite surreptitiously by Toby almost a year ago to the day. Daisy hates having her photo taken but we had all been sitting outside in the sunshine when Toby took this stunning photo of Daisy - we love her little brown nose!

Charlie Moore was 3 years old yesterday (approximately 25 years old in human years). Charlie is a Chipoo and is a real cutie pie - Yappy Birthday Charlie!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Henry came in for his haircut this week and his mummy told Morag that Henry would be 6 years old on 25 June (yesterday) so Yappy Birthday again for yesterday Henry. Henry's photo is on the before and after page.

Daisy will also be 6 years old on 1 July which is during this coming week so we will be celebrating with special treats - the way to Daisy's heart is definitely through her tummy!

We have posted a photo of Daisy this week relaxing in the garden after a walk. Today has been very hot and humid here in Cumbria (which makes a nice change) and Daisy seems to suffer a bit in the heat so stretching out in the newly cut grass seems to be a very nice way to cool down.

Only 2 weeks to Pawparazzi Day!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

George and Henry are both celebrating their birthdays this month so a Yappy Birthday to you both and hope you each have lovely birthdays!

The weather let us down today because we decided to set off for a nice walk at the coast but unfortunately the heavens opened and we had quite a downpour. Instead, we have had a run around the garden and then a long playtime chasing favourite toys.

We have decided to post a photo of Daisy today showing the way her tongue hangs out of her mouth to the side - we think she looks really cute!

Only 3 weeks to Pawparazzi Day (9 July) at the salon... so be there or be square!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We only have 4 weeks until our Pawparazzi Day and we are really looking forward to it. If this is the first time you are reading this we are having a photo competition on Saturday 9 July (between 2pm and 5pm) so come along and have your photo taken! There are three categories - Cute K9, Best Lookey-Likey and a Pawpapped Snap (unposed photo). The prizes are three gift boxes (see photo) which contain 10 toys each - plush and vinyl - and all the toys have a squeaker for extra enjoyment! Toby of tjfphotography.co.uk will be taking the photos and they will be available to purchase (at very reasonable prices) if you would like to buy your photo as well. Good luck to everyone who takes part.

Daisy is back to her old self again after a little course of antibiotics so thank you to everyone who asked after her.

Our weather in Cumbria is very changeable - we had fantastic sunshine yesterday morning only to be washed out in the afternoon by heavy rain. Seems like you can't go out without your umbrella... ella... ella! (Sorry just couldn't resist using the words from a famous song)

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

First of all we have a couple of yappy birthday announcements. Morag's niece Taylor (who lives in America) is 21 today - Yappy Birthday Taylor! Our neighbour, Dauhn, also has her birthday today and Dauhn is 13 in dog years - Yappy Birthday Dauhn! We hope you both have a bow wow birthday.

We have had some wonderful weather here in Cumbria this week - Friday by far was the warmest day we have had here for a while. Hopefullly, summer has finally arrived.

It is only 5 weeks until we have our Pawparazzi Day which will take place between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday 9 July. Morag has been busy making the three prizes which are paw print gift boxes containing 10 toys so lots of enjoyment if you are in the winning photos. We will post a photo of one of the prizes next week and we will ask Toby to take a photo for us.

Daisy Duke has not been feeling well for the past couple of days and we hope she is feeling better soon. After all she has been through this year we do worry about her and hope she is her bouncy self as soon as possible. We have posted a photo of Daisy and Martini from our little trip away recently so we hope you like the photo - of course Morag couldn't get both of them to look at the camera at the same time!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We are having some stormy weather here today in Cumbria and have spent the day dashing out to the garden between showers of rain - hope it is better weather wherever you are!

We thought we should catch up on our birthday greetings today - Yappy Birthday to Harry and Tallulah who were one year old last week on 16 May. We also want to wish Billy a belated birthday as his birthday is at the end of April but he was in the salon yesterday so bow wow Yappy Birthday to you Billy (Billy was 3)! Martini and Daisy used to attend Wigton Dog Club and their teacher is called Fay who had her birthday last weekend when we were away so belated Yappy Birthday Auntie Fay with plenty of tail wags from us.

We have decided to post a photo we took on Monday of a windswept Martini posing on a rock at West Beach, Losseimouth. We like the photo and hope you do too.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We are back from a long weekend away in Lossiemouth. Morag's mummy came with us and we had a lovely little break staying right on West Beach. Although we didn't have the stunning temperatures we had in April so we could paddle, we did have lovely "walking on the beach" weather. Daisy loved the beach as it meant she didn't have to go in the car but we did tour around a little and went to Findhorn and Fort Augustus. We didn't give Daisy any travel medication (which is an episode in itself) so we were pleased at how well Daisy coped with travelling on this trip.

It is only seven weeks now until our "Pawparazzi Day". We have been looking for a Peacock Wicker Chair for the photographs but haven't been able to locate one locally. If you know anyone who would be happy to lend us a chair for the afternoon of 9 July please let us know by emailing the salon at doggydoossalon@aol.com so we can get in touch with them. We hope you have put the date in your diary as we would love to see you there!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Well, what a difference a week can make - last weekend we were basking in sunshine here in Cumbria and this week weekend we have been dodging the rain. We have had thunder and lighting and plenty of rain to go with it. Martini and Daisy seem quite unconcerned at the loud thunder even though it seemed very close indeed.

Only 9 weeks until we have our Pawparazzi Day on 9 July. Morag has made up the gift baskets which will be the prizes for the best three photos (Cute K9, Looky-Likey and Pawpapped). The gift baskets have an assortment of 10 toys all in a gorgeous paw print box - all three prizes are identical so no-one will be disappointed. We are really looking forward to the day and hope you will be able to come along.

As you know, it is very hard to get a photo of Daisy but today we are posting a photo of Daisy taken with her playing with Santa Bear which she got for Christmas from her pal Benny. Daisy loves Santa Bear and even though it is now early May she doesn't seem to mind he is a Christmas bear. Santa Bear has a little tail that Daisy loves to chew and he probably only still has it because she only has one little tooth!

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Today we were in Carlisle and found ourselves invited to Jack's house for tea and treats. We have posted a photo of Jack's mummy, Ann, giving Jack, Martini and Daisy some treats. The sun was shining and it was lovely for the three muskateers to play in the garden. Martini and Daisy really enjoyed themselves and slept for most of the afternoon!

Although it was lovely and sunny it was also very windy here in Cumbria today. Whilst we were out our neighbours phoned us to tell us that our mini greenhouse had been blown over and they had done their best to rescue the plants. It was very disappointing as the plants, which were planted from seeds, were doing so well. We will soon see what has survived over the next few days.

Hope everyone is enjoying yet another long weekend.

29 April 2011 - Royal Wedding Day

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We had a day off so we watched the Royal Wedding on tv like millions of others all over the world. Morag's sister Lyndsey, who lives in America, got up early today to watch and we know she really enjoyed the wedding. What a great day - we decided to take a photo in our garden as it looks like we had our own wedding here! We have a cherry tree which is covered in blossoms but it was a little windy here in Cumbria today so it rained blossoms - we have our own carpet of pretty pink confetti - we hope you like the photo.

With Easter last week and wedding celebrations this week, we decided to round our day off with a walk to work off some of those extra treats at Silloth this afternoon. A little on the nippy side but we enjoyed the sunshine nonetheless.

Yappy Easter Everyone!

We hope you have all enjoyed the lovely weather over the long weekend and not eaten too many Easter eggs and hot cross buns!

We went to visit our friend Gillian at her shop in Caldbeck today. Morag had a Knickerbocker Glory (which was very yummy) and we sat outside in the sunshine with Gillian. Gillian's birthday is on Wednesday so Yappy Birthday Gillian. We have another friend called Ann Sewell who will also be having a birthday on Wednesday so Yappy Birthday Ann. We thought it would be polite not to mention how old they will be on Wednesday. We have posted a photo of the three of us with Gillian outside her shop. The photo was taken on Morag's phone by a passing tourist.

If you are not tired of the royal wedding yet, Martini just loves the new advert on TV for Freeview HD! It is the advert where three Corgis travel to London by various means - he loves watching it! Fingers crossed for good weather on the next long weekend.
