Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

We have posted a photo of poor Daisy this week - we are so shocked as she went to have a couple of teeth extracted and has ended up with a fractured jaw. We are devastated as she is quite poorly and even little Martini has not tried to torment her in his usual way. We understand that she will need at least one more operation and probably two before she is better so of course we are very worried about her. She is still very anxious and nervous with her tail down all the time so when we have to go to the salon she will be with a babysitter. Fortunately, we have liquid medication for Daisy as she can find a fraction of a tablet in her food and immediately treats any other food with extreme suspicion. She can eat but very slowly - unlike her old self where she would quickly gobble her food and tuck in to bread left out for birds as if she hadn't eaten in weeks.

We would like to say thank you to everyone who has emailed, phoned and sent text messages asking after Daisy. Daisy is such a sweetie and we are very upset seeing her the way she is so we hope she will be better very soon.

Hello from Morag, Martini and Daisy

Bailey and Riley came to the salon for their haircuts yesterday. They are black and white Shih Tzu puppies and will be 9 months old during January. Bailey and Riley won the first prize in the Christmas raffle which was a portrait to be taken by Toby of http://www.tjfphotography.co.uk. We can't wait to see the photos of them as they are incredibly cute. Morag remembered to take the camera to the salon so we have posted a photo of Bailey and Riley with Steve (their daddy and chauffeur) and Morag.

We would like to wish a Yappy Birthday to Ruby Johnson who is one this coming week. Ruby is a Sprollie (Springer x Collie) who is usually quite nervous when she first comes into the salon but soon settles down. We would also like to wish Yappy Birthday to Morag's sister Lyndsey who lives in America who will also be having her birthday this week - Lyndsey is approximately 6 and a half years old in dog years (we thought it polite not to mention her real age)!

We hope all our four legged friends got through the turbulent weather conditions here in Cumbria yesterday. Martini is always a bit nervous when it is windy but it was the first time we have seen Daisy feel anxious in strong wind. After some rain and strong gusts this morning, it turned into a very nice day so much more pleasant for Daisy to mooch around the garden.

New Year's Day 2011

Yappy New Year everyone

On the first day of the new year we would like to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous 2011!

The time seems to have flown from our last blog on Christmas Day. We had a great Christmas Day with friends who invited us for lunch.

On Monday 27th December, we were invited to a "mulled wine and mince pies" party by Miss Petunia, Bobby and Freddy's family at their home near Cockermouth. We had a lovely time at the party and there was lots of food but we didn't have any mince pies! Daisy Duke aka Daisy Dyson was nowhere to be seen - she decided to hang out in the kitchen underneath the buffet probably hoping for food surprises to fall from above! We think Daisy was trying to keep a two room distance between herself and Morag (who keeps a close check on what Daisy eats) as Daisy has been on a diet and so far has lost 1.3kg. This may not seem a lot at first glance but when you are only a foot tall it all counts. Martini, on the other hand, thought he had it made in the lounge as the coffee table was a good height. The guests who were playing on the Xbox game kept putting their plates on the coffee table which was too much of a temptation for him and he found himself in trouble a few times for trying to get the food off the plates. We were surprised to find Miss Petunia was so quiet but then we found out her vet was a guest and with Morag arriving too she probably thought she would have to have her pony tails re-done.

Morag has spent some time decorating this week as her mummy is arriving from South Africa later this month so she would like everything to be spick and span. Only three weeks to go so there are plenty of things still to do.

On New Year's Eve, Sam (Bichon) and Ruby (Sprollie - x spaniel/collie) came to the salon for their hair appoinntment. Thank you to Sam's family who brought us flowers which was such a lovely surprise. We then had a quiet New Year's Eve with us just cuddled on the sofa in front of the TV trying to keep our eyes open for the countdown.

We have posted one of Morag's favourite photos of Martini which was taken about 18 months ago in the garden by Toby. Martini and Dougie had been chasing each other around the garden for at least half an hour when this photo was taken but we think he looks really cute.
